What’s the answer, that came to your mind?

I will be very strict with you people and precise to the point. This Post will be a little big, as this topic is crucial and must be discussed briefly.

Ofcourse everything I say in this post is my and only my opinion and I am sharing it with you guys just to help you with my knowledge.

Let’s Start — — — — — — —

It doesn't matter, how many courses you are taking and how many basic certificates you have. You won’t be able to get in the field(JOB) with that, at the end of the day they will ask you some questions, and if you are not clear and bold with your base. Say bye-bye to your interview.

The above para was confusing, right?

Let me clarify what I want to say, Internation Certificates will only help you to get an interview for a job or help you in getting a promotion(Will not talk about that now).

As the recruiter will sort out your application, seeing that “WOW” you have Security+, CEH, Microsoft Certs, CCNA, etc.

This can only help you in getting the interview call, you still have 0% of confirmation that you will be selected or not.

They expect that you have this level of knowledge with you, but as we all know 60% of you enthusiastic people just focus on clearing the paper and not on the basics that are needed for that exam.

But when you are really in an interview, you know you are F**ked.

“WHY”

Lack of deep knowledge of basic stuff, let me give you an example:

  1. More than 50% of you don't know what subnetting really means and how you as an individual can use it for benefiting the company that is hiring you.
  2. Do you know what the “INODE” number is in Linux? It’s the most basic thing in Linux that you study in your 1st lesson.

I am not over exhilarating the scenario, it's the reality you have to face.

The interviewer knows you are a beginner, with no Hands-on experience. They won’t ask you godly questions that need Einstein's IQ to solve them.

Just know your basic’s to that level, if the person sitting on the other side is from a non-technical field, even he/she understands the meaning.

Now, you know what you are doing wrong. So, what to do now?

If you are from the cyber-security field, I am sharing some basic platforms where you should start and all of them are free.

These Platforms are one of a kind on their own.

  1. YouTube (Haha, I would be a fool if I don't mention it on 1st)
